stop and smell the lilacs

I went out on an evening stroll with my camera to take in the beauty of spring. Landscapes and macro flower photography is not my speciality, but I do get a kick out of trying to freeze nature in time with a photograph. These photos soothe my sensitive nervous system and remind me of the beauty I have access to just outside my doorstep. And the lilacs, they’re so fleeting. Just two weeks to enjoy their gorgeous bloom and fragrance. As school comes to a close for my teenagers, I’m reminded of the short amount of time we have together. Life… it’s all fleeting, so do whatever you can to seize a moment of joy when you see it.

Light streaming through any object gets me every single time.

Even the weeds have something beautiful to say to the world. Maybe a lesson we all need to hear: “I grow even under conditions that aren’t optimal.”

The Basket of Gold screamed “Walk this way.” My mind saw a woman in a purple dress flowing down this sidewalk.

And you never know who you’ll see out on a walk. This little buddy made sure I saw him!
